Welcome to the second edition of our newsletter.
As we continue working towards opening our school, we’re excited to share the appointment of one of our inaugural teachers, Julie Hudson.
Originally from the Gold Coast, Julie has lived and worked in England, India, Laos, Italy, and the USA in a variety of roles, including first aid responder, diplomat, Montessori teacher, and camp leader.
After obtaining her teaching qualifications in Australia, Julie pursued a Master of Social Work (International Development) in the USA and later completed an AMI Montessori 6–12 Diploma in Bergamo, Italy.
Julie’s passion for international education led to five years with the Australian Agency for International Development before returning to the classroom in 2015 as a class director at Three Tree Montessori School in Seattle.
There, she expanded the upper elementary program and helped students engage with the Montessori Model United Nations, enriching their understanding of global citizenship.

While primarily a lawyer practising in the ACT and NSW for over 40 years, I have longstanding commitments to a diverse range of community associations.
These have included environmental groups, a women’s refuge, a youth service, and a rural fire service. I currently chair the Byron Community Association, which is primarily dedicated to assisting people experiencing homelessness in the Byron Bay area.
